About the Author

Author of the Thunderstone

Pj Belanger has spent a good part of her life in the scenic hills of Connecticut. She was always an avid reader. “My father collected every bit of Science Fiction he could find- we would talk for hours on the subject. The Golden Age of Science Fiction is truly a love of mine.
Great writers from Heinlein to Jose Farmer to Asimov to Bloch were my idols. They were great story tellers something that influences my own work. Of course, then came Tolkien and I was hooked on fantasy too.”

After graduating from St. Francis College (UNE) in Maine, she worked in the fast pace newspaper advertising world but always had been a writer of short stories, novel length books of fiction, romance and general interest. Her work is a mixture of a three volume book series, The Houses of Storem filled with wizards, dwarfs, merrs, elfs, heroic Kings and albino Icelanders. Her Space Detective series is just plain good sci fi fun as is her short story book.

Pj was deeply involved in writing local NASCAR Driver Profiles and has a book on The History of Stafford Speedway. “I love racing in general, but I really love the short tracks. It was a labor of love to write the racing books and I enjoyed writing a regular racing column for a local sports newspaper.”

Pj lives in Florida with husband. She enjoys time with her two grandchildren. Her life is enhanced by a trouble making miniature beagle and a mischievous cat.

Excerpt

The wizard, now also standing, was listening intently as the wind gathered his cloak, flinging it in the air almost playfully. “Be gone, we wish you no harm, we are only weary travelers” he shouted.

Sparks flew as the wind’s gust began to smother the small campfire.  Tem with his night vision could see bright yellow eyes devouring them just beyond the fire’s rim, wolves!  By the gods help us if this fire goes out, he thought.  Nugs standing over the girl, raised his mace and howled.

“What kind of sorcery be this?” Tem yelled to the wizard.  The wizard was beyond hearing, raising his staff over his head as if it were a weapon, he lowered it slowly to the fire.  The fire flamed, reaching up into the night.  The wind died down immediately, the air once again became stagnant and silent.  The eyes retreated into the darkness from whence they had come.

Tem fingering his scorched vest, watched as the wizard tumbled to the ground.  Running over, fearing the worst, he felt Eauxsage’s hand, cold.  “Great Mother of Hysteria, now we’re really in for it, the fool done got himself killed.”

A WORLD RULED BY THE POWER OF THE JEWELS – BOTH GOOD AND EVIL. A YOUNG GIRL, A POWERFUL WIZARD, A STRUGGLING YOUNG PRINCE THAT MUST PROVE HIS BROTHER TO BE A FALSE KING . . .  COMBINE THIS TRIO WITH A GIANT FROM THE ICELANDS AND A MASTER HALF-BREED THIEF . . .  JOINED BY A PRETTY GAMBLING WOMAN – WHO IS NOT WHO SHE PRETENDS TO BE
