Nature’s Subtleties

Unfolding before my eyes right after the rains was the ever changing desert.  Overnight it became green with splashes of yellow strewn throughout.  Not knowing what the yellow was, my curiosity took me on a walk.  Close up, I saw wispy yellow threads covering what appeared to be green succulents.  These small patches of yellow actually brought a huge amount of color variation to the panorama of desert flora when seen from a distance.  The view from afar was softly pastoral, giving me a peaceful feeling as I returned home. What other colors and blooms might appear with each weather and season change, I wondered.  There’s so much that awaits me!  Being filled with this tranquility, I found myself noticing more the subtleties in people as well.  A slight smile on a shy child’s face or the nuance behind a word that allows us to see more deeply into the heart was more noticeable.  Nature is a marvelous teacher!

Do you, too have memories you wish to share of nature’s sublime subtleties and how they affected your life?
